Because I am a citizen, I do my Due Diligence and research candidates that ask for my vote, and I vote, every election. I participate in my community and my city and I hold politicians accountable for their bad behavior. I teach citizens how to be better about their citizenry and I refer to them as Bosses. Because we are the Boss of every last person that we elect, we actually hire them and pay them a good salary.

Managing our elected hires is a part of mine and your patriotism and I am a Task Master and damn proud of it. I write, I call I go to City Hall aka The Hall of Sycophants and to the capital as often as I like. They suck teeth when they see me practicing my patriotism and civic duties and I would too and you all must do it too. While “This land is your land, this land is my land” plays in my head, I am smiling because everyday I practice, share, educate, walk and talk patriotism. It is the one true conversation that I never tire of. And at a dinner party oh, the conversations can become funny, empathetic, downright disrespectful and HOT… Lean into your patriotism, put aside 90 minutes a month to attend a city meeting in person online. Find out who your representatives are and pre populate emails with your questions, wants and the desires for you and your community, send it every month. That is their job to go get that for you and if they don’t Fire, them and hire elect someone who can. Bosses you’ve got the power.
